As a non-profit scientific organization with more than 140 years’ experience, we are a champion for chemistry, its practitioners and our global community of members.
The Cambodian Chemical Society (CCS) is the non-profit organization with the main aim to promote the better quality of life with chemistry. CCS envisi... ... ons Cambodian chemists, students, researchers to have prosperity and the progress in knowledge as well as skill and fit with the job market. CCS is focusing on the green chemistry principal to economy and increases national economy, maintain the environment and safety of life. It has joined force with several other chemical societies in the world as well as Chemical Society of Thailand (CST), The Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM), Federation of Asian Chemical Societies (FACS), IUPAC, Foundation for Interaction between Science and Technology (FIST) Japan, UNESCO in order to improve in science education and to sustain the globe for next generations. Our mission is to develop the sector of chemistry in Cambodia through develop capacity/skills of all Cambodian chemists, organize national/international scientific symposia/conferences/forums on the chemical research, and disseminate all information through CCS’s bulletin in order to promote the effectiveness of the knowledge of the chemistry to the nation and society. Last year, the CCS has launched a program called “Mobile Lab”. The objective of this program is to introduce the small scale chemistry to secondary school’s students in Cambodia, to train them as a new approach for learning the chemistry experiments safely at low cost and no waste to dispose further. The goal of this project is to attract the young students to learn and love science and also to solve the problems that enable the teachers not to teach experiments in schools. I gratefully thank to International Sciences Program (ISP), Uppsala University of Sweden for their strongly support to CCS’s activities and gratefully thanks to all CCS’s partners for their good collaborations and supports I appreciate and special thanks to CCS’s BOD members, Executive Committee members and all CCS’s members who have volunteered worked closely with each other to promote the activities of the Cambodian Chemical Society from the beginning until now to make proud progress.
Read MoreThe Cambodian Chemical Society (CCS) envisions The Science of Chemistry and Chemists, Students and Researchers in Cambodia with advanced knowledge and skills appropriate to the national requirements of research capacity, the labor market and production. CCS supports the Principals of Green Chemistry in order to reduce waste, maintains the Environment, and enhances the National Economy and Human safety.
CCS’s mission is to develop the Chemistry sector in Cambodia through Scientific Chemical Research; develop the capacity/skills of all Cambodian Chemists and organize National/ International Scientific Forums on the Chemical Research; disseminate information in order to increase the effectiveness of Chemical knowledge for society and the Nation. The promotion of transferring new knowledge and skills in chemistry in national language for Cambodian people.
The CCS’s main objectives are Encourage and facilitate research in Chemistry and Applied Chemistry. Create a Forum to exchange new knowledge and experiences among National and International Chemists Strengthen and improve the skills of the Cambodian Teachers/Students and Intellectuals by improving the curriculum, research methodology, teaching methods and experimental work in Chemistry Create/Compile/disseminate useful discoveries and knowledge, which are the foundation of Chemistry and Applied Chemistry, by any possibility means.
